deXes is a Dutch company focused on the responsible and efficient sharing of data between public and private parties. We develop infrastructure for data spaces: a modern approach that enables organisations to share data and documents without physically transferring them. The data remains at the source — only access is managed.

The DMI ecosystem (Dutch Metropolitan Innovations) is a data space initiated by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management. Across themes such as mobility, urban renewal, and logistics, DMI helps municipalities and other public-private organisations share data more quickly and securely. The goal: better decision-making through better data access.

As a Consultant Data Spaces, you are the link between our technology and the participants in the ecosystem. You help organisations make optimal use of our services and contribute to a user-friendly and informative experience.

• Advising and supporting participating organisations on the use of deXes-provided facilities and data space components
• Onboarding new participants — from first contact through to their live connection in the ecosystem
• Identifying and documenting user needs and translating them into improvements in our services or documentation
• Creating and maintaining support content (manuals, onboarding materials) for participants
• Contributing ideas for the further development of our services and processes

• A completed bachelor's or master's degree, preferably in Public Administration, (Technical) Business Administration, Information Science, or a related field
• An interest in data ecosystems, digital infrastructure, and public services
• Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented mindset
• A drive to work in an innovative, fast-moving environment
• Affinity with UX, data management, and information management is a plus
• Experience within government or consultancy is a plus, but not required
• Fluent Dutch speaker (required)

Are you an experienced consultant and product thinker who can quickly get to grips with complex client environments? Do you have a proven track record of guiding Agile development teams towards high-quality, user-centred outcomes? Then this role at deXes is for you.

As Product Owner Dataspaces you work at the intersection of business requirements, policy frameworks and technical delivery. You own the product backlog for one or more data space components, translate stakeholder needs into actionable user stories, and ensure the development team is always working on the right priorities.

• Owning and prioritising the product backlog for deXes data space services and components
• Translating complex stakeholder requirements from public and private sector clients into clear, testable user stories
• Acting as the primary point of contact between the business, clients and the development team
• Facilitating sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives within an Agile / SAFe framework
• Defining acceptance criteria and validating delivered features against them
• Contributing to the product vision and roadmap, in close collaboration with management and technical leads
• Identifying and managing dependencies between teams and external data space participants

You will work primarily on the DMI ecosystem (Dutch Metropolitan Innovations), a live data space serving Dutch municipalities and public-private partnerships in domains such as mobility, urban renewal and logistics. You will also be involved in AMdEX — the Amsterdam Data Exchange — a broader initiative to build trusted, machine-enforceable data sharing agreements at city and national scale.

• At least 3–5 years of experience as a Product Owner, business consultant or comparable role
• Demonstrated ability to quickly understand and operate within complex client environments
• SAFe POPM certified, or willing to obtain certification
• Strong analytical and communication skills — you can simplify complexity
• Experience with data management, digital infrastructure or government IT is a strong plus
• A collaborative mindset and drive to make things happen in a fast-moving team
